Deliverance from Ungodly Vows, Oaths & Promises Keeping You Bound

Numbers 11:16-17, 25 NKJV

16 So the LORD said to Moses: "Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you. 17 "Then I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit that [is] upon you and will put [the same] upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you may not bear [it] yourself alone. ... 25 Then the LORD came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that [was] upon him, and placed [the same] upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied…

People become bound by their own words: ungodly vows, oaths, and promises made.

Matthew 7:1-2 NKJV

1 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 "For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Luke 6:37-38 NKJV

37 "Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

Galatians 6:7-10 NKJV

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Everlasting life in this verse is not talking about eternity. It is referring to life here on earth or what Jesus said was available to us…abundant life.

Galatians 5:19-23 NKJV

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told [you] in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Exodus 20:12 NKJV

12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

· Honor:

o A decision we make to place high value, worth, and importance on a person, recognizing that no matter what their behavior is, they are still a valued creation of God.

o It is also a decision to put God's love, in action, towards others.

o Honor combats low self-esteem by communicating to another how special they are to you, no matter how broken they may be.

· Dishonor: anger, sarcasm, judgment, exposure, comparisons, criticisms, racism, etc.

Proverbs 18:20-21 NKJV

20 A man's stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; [From] the produce of his lips he shall be filled. 21 Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Matthew 5:33-37 NKJV

33 "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.' 34 "But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne; 35 "nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 "Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 "But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

James 5:12 NKJV

12 But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes" be "Yes," and [your] "No," "No," lest you fall into judgment.

When someone is bound by their own words it will manifest in their life in many different ways. Most of the time it will be ungodly oaths and vows made when they experienced trauma, betrayal, abandonment, or in other words when they have been wounded by someone. Many times it may go all the way back to their childhood. Even though they may have been a child the power of words is still activated when spoken or even thought of in the heart (these are called inner vows and oaths).

Those ungodly words spoken as a child if never repented of will produce fruit later on in life for the child. Many times when the fruit begins to come forth the person cannot understand where it’s coming from because they don’t know it is rooted in their childhood.

This can also happen with a bad experience in a relationship that was very abusive and/or traumatic. Words spoken in a moment of anger or unforgiveness will cause a yoke of the same kind to be placed on the person who spoke them. The measure that you use will be measured back to you…

Sample prayer to pray for someone who may be bound by ungodly vows and oaths they made:

You lead them first in a general prayer to forgive anyone who hurt them in any way. Renounce and break the power of all ungodly oaths, vows, and promises made against the person(s) of revenge, retaliation, backlash, and punishment. Ask God to remove any judgments that the person brought upon their own heads by judging and condemning others. Ask God to forgiven them for every misunderstanding that they have had with God.

Once you lead them in the prayer to forgive and renounce ungodly vows and oaths all legal right of the enemy has been removed and his yokes can be broken off to set them free.

Sample prayer (this will change as you do this more and more because the Holy Spirit will lead and guide you in different ways for different people.

You lead them in prayer first:

In Jesus name, I choose of my own free will to forgive, as an act of faith, every person who has ever hurt me or traumatized me in any way. Verbally, physically, mentally, emotionally, sexually, I choose to forgive and release them from all unforgiveness and bitterness, in Jesus name.

In Jesus name, I renounce and break the power of every ungodly vow, oath, and promise that I made against them of revenge, retaliation, backlash, and punishment.

In Jesus name, I break every yoke, cord, and chain associated with these oaths and vows off of their lives and I set them free, in Jesus name.

Father, I ask you to bless them and make yourself known to them. If they are not saved I ask you for their salvation. I ask you not to hold against them what they did to me. Lord, your word says judge not and I will not be judged. It says condemn not and I will not be condemned because the measure that I used will be measured back to me.

Lord, I didn't know the minute I judged I brought the same judgment upon my own head and now it's producing fruit in my life. I ask you to forgive me Lord, and I ask you to break every yoke that I brought upon my own head by my own words and remove every burden that has weighed me down, in Jesus name.

Father, I also asked you to forgive me for every misunderstanding that I've had with you. Your thoughts towards me are only good and that my soul knows very well. Thank you Father, in Jesus name. Amen.

Now you tell them to let you pray for them. They are only to receive prayer, not pray in the Spirit while you pray for them. A person cannot receive from the Spirit if they are praying in the Spirit at the same time.

In Jesus name, I break every mark the devil has placed upon your head. Every mark placed upon you by the devil, demons, witches, warlocks, sorcerers, and magicians. In Jesus name, I break the power of every mark they placed upon you.

In Jesus name, their legal right has been removed and the mark is broken off of your life, in Jesus name. In Jesus name, I break the power of all witchcraft, wizardry, black magic, and every hex, vex, spell, and incantation written, spoken, and recorded over you, I break the power of it now, in Jesus name.

In Jesus name, I break power of the spirit of witchcraft and every unclean spirit and every defiling spirit that is attached itself to you. I command the spirits to go back to the dry places where they came from, in Jesus name.

In Jesus name, I break every ungodly soul tie ever formed between you and any person that has ever used you, abused you, or that you had ungodly relations with. I break and destroy every ungodly soul tie that you have ever formed through sin, iniquity, and transgression all the way back to the beginning, day one, back to the womb, in Jesus name.

In Jesus name, I call back to you the pieces of your soul that were taken away through ungodly soul ties and I released to them the pieces of their soul to leave you and to go back to them, in Jesus name.

Holy Spirit, I asked you to put my brother sister back together again, nothing missing, nothing broken. I ask you to open their reticular formation and their limbic system, in Jesus name, I command all the tormenting spirits to come out now!

I curse the spirit of trauma, depression, oppression, and bondage off of you, in Jesus name! I command the spirits to leave and never return to you ever again. I command them to take all hurtful files with them, in Jesus name. Come out of their mind, subconscious mind, and their non-conscious mine, in Jesus name.

I curse the root, the stem, and the fruit of all your works in their life. I command it all to wither and die, fall dead to the ground, and never produce fruit in their life ever again, in Jesus name. I apply the blood of Jesus to your mind will and emotions.

Father, I asked you to fill them with your shalom, your peace that surpasses all understanding. Let it flood their heart and their mind. Let it rule and reign in their hearts and in their minds, Abba.

In Jesus name, I release the healing virtue of Jesus Christ to flow through them to bring healing and restoration, spirit, soul, and body. I speak a new heart into them, one that is not wounded, and one that is not bruised. A heart that can receive love from God freely and can freely give it away, in Jesus name.

Father, I pray that you would fill them fresh and new with your Holy Spirit! Saturate them with your anointing and your glory, Father.

I speak a restoration of all that has been stolen from them, in Jesus name. All relationships, time, material things, finances, opportunities, let them all be restored and returned to them at your appointed times, Father, in Jesus name!

Father, release the angels to go and gather up every good and perfect thing you've ever release to them. Release the angels to go and bring it into their possession for Your Glory! Release the angels now to war on behalf of this prayer and over this person to bring it to pass, in Jesus name, and for the glory of God! Amen!

Last thing to pray.

In Jesus name, I break and cancel all revenge, retaliation, backlash, and punishment of the enemy against us for praying this prayer of deliverance, restoration, and victory over all the power of the devil, in Jesus name.

I break the power of every assignment and attack of the enemy to stop or to hinder the blessing of God being restored in this person's life. I decree and declare it will not manifest in anyway.

Thank you, Father, I give you all the glory, in Jesus name! Amen!

After you pray for the person ask them if there is anything on their mind or you can ask them what’s the first thing that comes to their mind. Very often they we will say nothing. There is just peace or they feel lighter. Sometimes they may say they just remembered some other things they need to renounce. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. Lead them in prayer to renounce the things they remembered. If there is nothing else to deal with rejoice with the person for what the Lord has done in their life that day. Give God all the glory and ask Him to send someone else for you to set free. He will!

Receive this blessing:

The Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you His peace.
